About the game
What is RoomScore?
RoomScore is a free daily room design game by DecorDreamr. Every day you get one real room with a real brief: its size, light, budget, and lease rules. You make six design calls, and the game scores the room from 0 to 100 and shows exactly which choices earned or lost points.
How does RoomScore work?
- Meet today’s room: a real space like a windowless studio or a north-facing dorm, with a budget and a constraint.
- Make six picks, one for each decision a designer would weigh: anchor, layout, lighting, storage, texture, and personality.
- Get your score out of 100, see why each pick landed or missed, and come back tomorrow to keep the streak.
The six categories are not arbitrary. Lighting alone carries 20 of the 100 points, and it is the same skill our guide to apartment lighting for renters teaches for your own place. Layout instincts transfer too; see small living room layout ideas for the real-world version.
RoomScore FAQ
- Is RoomScore free?
- Yes. RoomScore is completely free to play, with no signup, no account, and no payment. A new room appears every day.
- Do I need an account to play RoomScore?
- No. You play instantly in the browser. Your streak and history are saved on your device, so returning in the same browser keeps your progress.
- When does a new RoomScore room come out?
- A brand-new room appears every day at midnight UTC. Everyone in the world plays the same room on the same day, which is what makes scores comparable and shareable.
- What is a good RoomScore?
- 80 or higher earns the Strong Eye tier, 95 or higher makes you a Design Expert, and a perfect 100 puts you in the 100 Club. Scores in the 70s usually mean one or two picks fought what the room needed.
- What are the six decisions RoomScore grades?
- Anchor, layout, lighting, storage, texture, and personality. They are the same six calls a designer weighs in a real room, which is why playing daily trains your eye for your own space.
- Is RoomScore a rate my room test?
- Close, but the rating runs the other way. Most rate-my-room sites have strangers or an AI judge a photo of your space. In RoomScore you do the judging. Everyone scores the same real room each day, so you build the eye a designer uses instead of waiting on someone else's verdict.
Ready to use that eye on your own living room? Room Rescue turns your measurements, must-keep pieces, and priorities into an ordered action plan. If you would rather work through the same six checks by hand, use the rate my room checklist with the exact measurements behind each one.
